NFPA 101 requires quick-response or residential sprinklers in health
care facilities and residential occupancies due to life safety concerns.
The intent appear to be to deliver water quickly.

A dry pipe system has a built-in time delay, and using quick-response
dry pendent sprinklers doesn't eliminate the delay in getting water to
the fire area...so a dry system with QR dry pendent sprinklers might not
meet the life safety intent in a nursing home.

Ask the sprinkler manufacturer if his QR dry pendent sprinkler can be
used to satisfy the NFPA 101 requirement.
Maybe the NFPA 101 requirment should be changed to require QR sprinklers
with a wet pipe system since there are no residential sprinklers listed
for dry pipe use.
