My pricing was about .81 cents higher than the Reliable--I don't know what
yours will be.

Do you agree with EC in this situation per NFPA then?

Use the Viking heads but get a price on them first.

Until I read NFPA 2002-13 A3.7.1 (1) I agreed that is unobstructed. But this
particular definition is the closest thing to this type of construction. It
makes a big difference when you try to put EC sprinklers in a warehouse
classified as OH Group II and one listing says unobstructed construction
only and another company's listing on the similair sprinkler is UL listed
for non-combustible obstructed construction.

On a second note my AFSA Fire Sprinkler School Book states that it is
obstructed construction although most AHJ's will consider it unobstructed.

UNOBSTRUCTED

Steel deck is supported on purlins and purlins supported on beams
perpendicular to the purlins. There is no pocket to trap the heat. So
unobstructed.

Poll:

Are typical 8" and 10" purlins spaced 4-5' apart with open space above the
beams where the purlins rest considered OBstructed or Unobstructed
construction?
