I know this has been beaten beyond death, but it's a very interesting topic.
I'd like to hear from the AHJ's. Do you have the manpower to adequately review plans and inspect every residential installation? Some of you require a bucket test, some don't. Most require a rough-in inspection prior to sheetrock, some don't. All these things take time and I know most of your departments don't have an overabundance of manpower. When more contractors (plumbers or sprinkies) enter the market, there's going to be a learning curve for the newbies. Do you guys feel comfortable being very short-handed AND playing teacher at the same time?
