for one example.... 2006 and 2003 LSC in New Hotels allows longer travel distances (28.2 5.3 and 28.2.5.4 refer us to 28.3.5.1) for sprinkler systems conforming to NFPA installation instructions. Sprinkler installations conforming with NFPA 13R are legitimate trade-offs for shorter travel distance when the hotel is 4 or fewer stories (28.3.5.1 refers us to 28.3.5.3)
