The connection from the FDC must be below the DPV and the connection tee must be above a swing check in the riser in most every case.

I'v always thought this might be due to possible air leak from the FDC check valve, if it's connected on the dry side, downstream of the dry pipe valve. Is this the reason? For a project having a single dry system, the contractor has connected the FDC downstream of the DPV. The system seems to be holding. Any comments?
