Partial Trip Test?

I have installed these on pre-action and deluge before. Very useful when
testing the activation pre-comissioning.

Subject: two control valves in a deluge system riser?

Co-worker is looking at a contractor's riser detail. Systems are straight
water deluge, protec-o-wire (electric activation).

There is a BF control valve at the header AND one on top of the deluge
valve.

Exhibit 7.8, page 210 of NFPA 13 2013 handbook shows something similar.

Does anyone know the reason for two control valves?

thanks,
