A little off track but still applicable, when applying the FILL with insulation, attics need some ventilation just under the roof. Some but not all of the exceptions identify a 2 inch air gap is allowed. This was explicated stated in the 2013 ed but if you are in an older version, ensure everybody is on the same page.
