Mark,

When installing this, does it need to run the entire length of the pipe or just
where the pipe passes over the electrical equipment?

Thank you,

Are we maybe describing drip pans under pipe in electrical room?

Military jobs like this in their specs

It's usually sheet metal bent into a u shape a inch or so wider than pipe. Hung
separately but touching bottom of pipe.

No obstruction

Unless I am misunderstanding

I have to agree with Matt here. If it is with-in 18” below the sprinklers it
is considered an obstruction, if it is just under the piping, it does not allow
for the water pattern to properly form to cover the room as the sprinklers are
designed.

I still sleeve pipe because I disagree with the shield allowance. To me it is
an obstruction

For your case, I would defer that to electrical folks as we do not know their
requirements per se.

Has anyone installed a hood/ shield for electrical equipment? Can this be
something as simple as a sheet metal pan that covers the width and depth?

Suggestions, pictures, or name calling would be appreciated.
