Excellent information.
I've worked on several projects where a clean agent system was called
for by the EOR or the building occupants.
Now this was some time ago before cloud storage began to be more
prevalent, however the reasons provided by those generating the project
specs had more to do with the avoidance of water upon the equipment in
an area for concerns that water might damage the equipment beyond recovery.
In one instance which comes to mind the space was a telephone switchgear
space in a commercial high rise building, and it was insisted that fire
suppression be provided with a "clean agent" rather than a preaction system.
It took some doing however we were able to meet their requirements.
