We use those remote fuel fill station fairly often because there are a few
jurisdictions nearby that require it. Pryco is one company that makes them. But
they are pretty expensive, so I’m not necessarily suggesting that it’s a good
alternative.

Subject: [EXTERNAL] [Sprinklerforum] Economical Solution For Remote Diesel Fuel
Fill

When installing a diesel fire pump fuel tank, the top of the tank in the pump
room is generally higher than 5’ AFF. The exterior fuel fill is required to be
no more than 5’ above grade and usually ends up being about 7’ above grade.

In the past, we’ve used a permanently installed stair platform or a Morrison
overfill prevention valve, shut-off valve, quick connect and spill containment
box... neither option is economical.

We have several installs coming up and was looking for something better.
Typically, the fuel delivery driver does not use the exterior fill and fills
directly to the tank inside the pump room, but the exterior fill is still
required to be within guidelines.

Any ideas?
