My thought is that a simple virtual appliance would let make substantial changes to your system without the fear of messing with you main system. (e.g. you could have a few copies of your VM container, and if you make a mess of one, just copy a new version)
In my case, my 8 year old server is starting to die, I want to move SL from that to a new server, however... Getting everything setup and going in a single swing is a total pain. If I had a VM setup I could slowly do a backup/restore, copy over my custom logos, make sure it prints to printer and PDF, and.... life would be grand. I guess on the other side of the coin I could just grab any old Linux / BSD distro and create the same. However then its adding the PostGres, etc and getting everything working. ---Andrew ATM Logic Great minds like a think. Hi Andrew, yet this idea has been put on back burner. There is little or no demand for sql-ledger virtual machine. I shall build/update virtual appliance again if there is sufficient demand. People, please reply to this thread if you need virtual appliance for sql-ledger. If there are at least 5 people interested, I shall build it again and upload. Regards Armaghan
