With a pre-built VM, you still have many things to configure manually, like networking, mail transport, printers. And some people prefer VMware, others Virtualbox. So the question is, what is more useful, a VM or an extended installation script that installs and configures all the packages you need for SL/L123? Rolf You make a good point Rolf. However... I still like the VMWare/VirtualBox option, since ANY setup will require you to setup network/mail/printer. An extended script to automate the install would also be a HUGE improvement for most users. Even a nice copy/paste walk through for a couple of common Distros would be a leap in the right direction. The basic install is very easy, its the Latex and CPAN updates, and issues with the wrong version of PostGres that keep you going back and forth searching. A Yum - install 'onestopshoppingallyouneedandeverythingworks'-L123 would be perfect ;-) _______________________________________________ SQL-Ledger mailing list [email protected] http://lists.ledger123.com/mailman/listinfo/sql-ledger
