Sorry not sure where I got same SSID from but main point was about DHCP If one router is connected to other be ethernet cable have you set up one of them to work as dumb access point? If you haven't chances are you have two routers serviing as dhcp server on same lan subnet which will indeed create havoc and unpredictable behaviour like sometimes working after reboot then stopping later.. You can only have one router working as dhcp, same goes for NAT and firewall really..
