Friends,
The November-December issue of "Live Steam and Outdoor Railroading" has been
on my desk for several weeks and I just now had a chance to open and read
the magazine. The excellent article by Kozo Hiraoka about making copper
boilers to conform to the ASME code immedialetly caught my interest.
I was very surprised to see his statement that brass is an acceptable
material for various boiler fittings. There was some discussion about this
topic on this list a while back, comparing brass to bronze for such uses.
Would this be an appropriate time to revisit the issue of where it is
appropriate to use brass in small scale model boiler work?
