For 20 plus years in my metal fabricating and refinising shop, I used Muriatic acid (HCl) at a rate of about three gallons a week. It was diluted from 3:1 to as low as 1:3 (acid:water). Muriatic acid is NOT an oxidizing acid. It will NOT eat your skin and flesh away. Sulfuric, nitric, phosphoric acids, and other oxy acids will do the dirty deed on you. Always wear a face mask or face fitting goggles when using ANY acid. Even Muriatic can severely injure the eyes. Keep your steam up!!
