There are three parts, the drive, the burning software, and applications.
When the box says windows only, you will likely have to buy both of the
later two items separately, and you better make sure that the drive model
is one that is supported by the mac software you can buy. When the box says
mac support, best to check on exactly what is included. The cheap route for
the vendor is to bundle some cheesy burning software, and maybe no
applications so that you end up having to buy a retail package of something
good like Toast or Nero (on a PC).
