I don't think it really matters, one benefit of SCSI perferals is
that they don't put as much pressure on the processor as IDE ones do,
but that is not really an issue since few people will risk working on
other things while they're burning a CD. I've got a IDE Sony CRX140E
in my 4000 and it runs perfectly. It also bootable if that is an
issue.

I would like to leave the original CD-ROM drive in place and add the
CDRW in one of the other bays. Currently the machine has no PCI cards
installed, however I am going to be adding ethernet. Will the 200
watt P/S be sufficient to power this configuration?

I'm not sure what the power supply in my 4000 is rated at, but if it
was replaced under warranty then It's a pretty safe bet it was a
replaced with an identical supply. I have three PCI cards, my CDRW,
and two HD's running right now, and I've got the fan on my Joecard.
