I was going to recommend a Yamaha IDE drive because only older computers like ours can use them, and so they're cheap, but others say there's no back-up software for them. I got one, and plugged it into my ATAPI cable which was available because I have the SCSI CD-ROM. It has burned every brand and size of CD I've tried, no problems. It boots, too. Is your CD-ROM SCSI or ATAPI? If you do go SCSI, you don't need SCSI-2 because the transfer speeds for 8X R-W are only 1.2 Mb/sec. Can you see the rating of the power supply? It should be on it, on a sticker. Anyway, your CDR-W and your Ethernet board aren't going to draw enough wattage to worry about. Take a deep breath and dive in. Lou
