Check Accelerate Your Mac's http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/ drive 
compatibility database to see which drives work well on the Mac. 
Remember, you can only have 2 IDE drives in the SM, because of the 
limits of the hardware, so your best bet is to look for a SCSI CDRW 
drive.   Also, if you don't have the software and aren't running OS 
9.1, you will probably be better of looking for a drive/software 
combo pack.
