Many thanks to all of those who have given advice about
how to get into awkward corners - I shall get out into
shed and try out a few of the techniques offered.
This being my first piece it 'evolved' a bit more than I
intended as I learnt how to handle the tools. I started
too timidly not wanting to take out too much stone
(Ancaster Limestone). The upshot is I probably won't
try to do such an overhang again in a hurry! I got a
bit fed up with this piece - so put it aside whilst I
got on with something else, something with more
forethought given to it. I'm going back to it now to
see if I can like it enough to finish it off.
I would like to add my praise to that given by others:
this forum is a boon to those of us learning about
stone.
Thanks again
