Yeah, it is weird. I have tried any number of combinations of users
and sessions. Doesn't matter if it's Gnome or KDE or Blackbox or
Window Maker... regular user or root... always the same result.
PLOP! right back to the login screen. I can't check my
~/.xsession file right now as I am at work. I will look tonight when I
get home. Should that have been touched during the dist-upgrade?
X works just fine, though. Once I do all that other stuff first.
Now that I'm thinking about it... I had this same problem a month or
two ago when I did a dist-upgrade... I had since reinstalled for other
reasons... but it seems that somewhere in the process, this login
thing gets all fouled up. Believe me, I have looked around a lot but,
not being a programmer, I have no idea, sometimes, what I'm
looking at. Reading some scripts is like reading hieroglyphics
(sp?).
By the way, both times have been dist-upgrades to woody (not sid)
starting with hail 2.06.

What if everything is an illusion and nothing exists?
In that case, I definitely overpaid for my carpet.
