Post news and information from your neighborhood: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] _________________________________________ Ellie's information is true of the SOS and state. Since the Parties are not government entities, they can do what they want and have different rules. It seems to be a lot of 'extra' involved with the state government, or more precise- Kiffmayer's Adminstration.
I'm no expert, but according to the DFL Constitution and Bylaws, and customary practices,- for the precinct caucus and senate district/county unit convention you contact your Affirmative Action Officer. For the Congressional District Convention, there is also an Affirmative Action Officer, at that level, who's obligation is to be sure that accomodations are met. At the DFL State Convention, the Director of Outreach handles requests for accomodations. So, you direct your request based on the function you plan on attending. While no deadline is given for the requests, the DFL asks for a reasonable amount of time so that a search or inquiry can be made. I do know that there have been a few last minute requests in the last few years and all requests were met. Even if they weren't confirmed until fours hours prior to the meeting. Yes, this applies to ALL forms of interpreters. Now, the question is, what do the Republicans or Greens do for people who are blind, in wheelchairs, or need language interpreters of any kind (Deaf, Spanish, Hmong, Somali, etc.)?
