NEAT - info about SPPS budget: http://tinyurl.com/3gt66 _________________________________________ I hope you all went to the link to the story as John left out a whole host of interesting information. things like Kathy Lantry and Pat Harris also bought tickets throught what is called the sepcial council offer. Dan Bostrom went without having a ticket. The tickets were the property of the NHL, not the Minnesota Wild meaning the Wild received no revenue from the ticket sales.
As stated in the article, the NHL all-star game is a major event with interest world wide. Wouldn't it make sense to want the mayor of the city the host team calls home in attendence? As for the public not being able to get tickets, I guess that is the official word but unofficially, there were plenty available, at face value, on the street and my season ticket holders I know didnt go and sold their tickets. I don't know for sure but there might have been single seats for sale the week before the game. We were offered the opportunity to buy them on the tuesday before so they might have been bought up.
