There have been some newspaper editorials against the St. Paul airport project
and the WSCO Env't Committee has sent in comments and attended meetings about
it over the last few years. One of the editorials said that it would just
redirect the water and make it someone else's problem. Neither Dayton's Bluff
nor the West Side were too crazy about the idea of more air traffic, either.
The main beneficiaries seemed to be business travellers who didn't want to
travel to the main airport. Rep. Sheldon Johnson kept the neighborhood in the
loop--there were attempts to get funding at the legislative level for this.
