I also buy too much weird crap whose labels could never provide a subscription service. And I am not too impressed with what cable has to offer (besides local access which doesn't have much besides hilariously bad country gospel. Rundgren and Prince have both offered "subscription" type service that I would call more of a fan club. Buying this on a per band basis would cost a fortune, tho.
