I completely forgot about that setting. That did it. The Shutdown/Standby on the console works now. Though the vda-service fired it right up again.. The automatic standby in the power options doesn't seem to be working though. Just tried a 1 minute standby, then a 15min.

Does having an RDP session active disable (or keep reseting the standby counter)?

If this did work, wouldn't the vda service power it up again, even with no user activity?

Having an RDP session open only resets the idle counter if it's used, i.e if there's some sort of input activity (mouse/keyboard) on it. If it just sits around unused, the machine should go to standby (and thus get suspended if the setting is properly set in the VM). If a client is still requiring that machine from the VDA service, then yes, the service should restart it (for instance if this was a machine associated with a DTU session).
