I get what you are trying to do and can't help with the way your doing
it. I just know from my experiences I've never been satisfied with the
performance of printers when connected to Sunrays. In our case it's
always been USB printers, but configured in Cups as serial printers. We recently had our Iolan serial port server die. We still use Sunray 1g's and they lack Serial Ports. To get our Printronix Serial printer back online I bought a Digi One SP. It's just a serial port print server. Took less than 5 minutes to get it working once I realized I need a Null modem adapter between the printer and Digi. We use Cups though since everyone at my company came to Solaris via Linux and we wanted to use what we already knew. Bottom line it's simple and since every printer has an IP address they can be used very easily from any of our SunRay networks. This probably isn't going to help you out, but I though I'd give my 2 cents. I know I always like to hear about other ways to do things. I tend to get tunnel vision sometimes..... On the printer doc the printer interface must be set to 9600, 8, N, 1 what do you think ? and how can I set the printer to 9600, 8, N, 1 B.R, |
