I am in a similar boat as CJ is. TJHSST is a 4-year full-time science and
tech magnet high school in Northern Virginia. Nearly every student in the
school (~450 per graduating class) will use a Sun Ray during their time
here. Many of our students, after several more years of higher education,
feed into the regional federal government and contractors that are very
large potential customers for Oracle. We also occasionally have heads of
other school systems, US and foreign, visiting. Today, they see Sun Rays,
but that may not last much longer under Oracle. I and others have also
presented on thin client technologies specifically advocating Sun Ray at an
annual conference held at TJHSST for US overseas schools.

I am just glad that I was convinced in 2009 that we should get a 3 year
support contract. Between lack of edu discounts and chopping of lower
tiers of support, we're hard-pressed to keep using Oracle.
