Hi Bob,

That particular host had both IPv4 and IPv6 configured:

/etc/hostname.bge0 had correct hostname set
/etc/hostname6.bge0 was empty so Solaris defaulted (ermm..fallbacked?) hostname
to 'unknown'

Since hostname was reported as 'unknown' Sun Ray Data Store was confused when
doing initial
configuration through ./utsetup:

-----snap-----
Restarting Sun Ray Data Store ...
Fri May 13 08:30 : utdsd starting
Adding user admin ...
Failed to add user(s) to the list
ERROR: Could not retrieve policy.
-----snap-----

Log entry when trying to initiate new utpolicy:
utglpolicy[4205]: [ID 702911 user.info] open_connection(): Could not bind to DS
server unknown - Can't connect to the LDAP server
