Hi Jamie,
Yeah - friad you do need a pre-amp
of some sort. The output from a deck is tiny, and a "phono" input on a mixer,
amplifer, home hifi, etc will bring it up to a decent level.
If you know someone with a mixer,
you would be better to go through that route as this usually brings the highest
quality sound, and gives you a little bit of control over the
level.
You will be surprised though at
how many home hi-fi's have a phono input - and the majority of these have line
outputs.... or headphone outputs - which can be used as well.
