Me too, I have computer on all the time and just flip the rocker switch aback
the
scanner when I want to scan something. Ditto the external Yamaha CDRW and an
external HD used for backup. Isn't that "not hot swappable" referring to
actually pulling the cables rather than powering up or down the units? I don't
recall there ever being
any problems over the years doing this.
