I have an external SCSI box I built from a Fry's AT box. It can hold three
5 1/2 inch and four 3 1/2 inch drives. If I turn the box on after start up
I use FWB Mounter to mount the needed drive. I suppose there is other
software that will do the same.
The mounter rescans the SCSI busses in the S900 and gives a window listing
all found devices with the option to mount them or unmount them as
needed. The Mounter is in: Hard Disk ToolKit*PE 2: FWB Mounter. This
version of Hard Disk ToolKit*PE 2 came installed on my S900.
For those interested in building a SCSI Box, the Info was here:

This is a text file that describes how to build a case to hold multiple
internal SCSI devices using a PC case. The cost is around $100 (US) and
can hold 4 or more devices. The text file gives possible part numbers and
hopefully answers possible questions from the average user. My system has
been working for >3 months without any problems. If interested, read it.
Flames accepted, but you should at least read it first. I am the author.
(This can be included in any non-commercial package.)

If this E-Mail address is no longer good, I can send the info off list if
you will ask. It is about 18K.
I did a slight mod to his instructions. He brought the SCSI Cable straight
out and I with some hacksawing and filing fit a centronics scsi connector
on the back in the PCI slot openings. I made my own SCSI Cable , seven male
50 pin male ribbon spaced on the ribbon cable to one 50 pin female
Centronics. You can find people who will make Custom Cables Cheap.
Internal devices are a lot cheaper.
