Do you get a black screen freeze or a grey screen freeze? If a grey
screen freeze does the mouse cursor show up for a few moments and
move normally before the freeze? When it freezes, is the mouse
cursor still visible or is it after it has disappeared from the
screen?

A grey screen freeze is almost always a SCSI chain problem, except
when it is a PCI card problem.
