Nancy, My wife is using a 2001 Ibook (500) Appleworks & Eudora for her
writing & sharing, we have an Airport Base Station (Graphite) Macsense
Xrouter Pro we share a Epson Inkjet 880 thru USB Print share. I guess if
  I understand all this all I need is a Serial to ethernet adapter from Farallon
  to connect to the HP, do I still need a hub, will the router help me?
