Hi Phillip,

I don't know the answer to you questions.

I think I am correct, in that the Macsense doubles as an internet router 
and a LAN hub.  If that is the case, you just need something that 
connects/converts the HP's serial to ethernet.  The cable I saw on HP's 
web site should work.  Farallon may have something that will work too.

You might check with both HP and Farallon to see what is available. Then 
run the info by Macsense's tech support.

I know absolutely nothing about USB printer sharing.  Our printer 
sharing is going through a small LAN hub, via ethernet adapters on the 
printers, and ethernet ports on the computers.

I know nothing about your printer either, for that matter... but, you 
used to be able to add a device (port kind of thingie) to HP DeskJets to 
add ethernet networking capabilities.  I don't know they are still 
available, or even an option for your machine.
