hi (late addition..)

I guess this prob belongs to all those nixs For months I try to install Linux on my Pulsar / S900 (233DP) And I guess due to Open Firmware related Stuff I never got SMP running.. the 2nd Prozessor wouldnt work at all..most likely the whole machine got stuck during Boot procedure into Linux (via Bootx) This Isue as well as the Pci Bug of the S900 (PCI to PCI Bridge, IRQ Sharing) wich results in the fact that all lower 4 PCI Slots have to share one single IRQ... wich logically results in the Fact, that only one Card in the lower 4 Slots can be used... (by the way: is this the same in MacOSX ? : I guess it should because this is Open Firmware / device tree related as well... Youll find this discussed here: http://www.geocrawler.com/mail/thread.php3?subject=Status+of+PCI-PCI+bridge+on+UMAX+S900&list=3) >Alas, >there is no way to update our Open Firmware as it lives in the ROM. Update no!? might be.....well..but patchable ;) As far as I know..you can boot via open firmware..( and manipulate settings..) but there also semms to exist a controlpanel that lets one change the open Firmware settings via MacOS... (I just have seen it here: http://www.linux-magazin.de/ausgabe/1998/09/PPCLinux/ppclinux.html) (unlukily its in German..but theres also a screenshot of this controlpanel) greetings jo -- SuperMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
