I do think there is some truth to what Dan is saying. However for the
first year or more I was running OSX on my J700 with a G3 300mhz and
only a bit more then 100mb of ram. Also I am still using my old slow
SCSI hard disks that came with the machine. One for OSX and one for
Classic 2 gb each. It ran much better then I expected and was usable.
Problems were as you guessed. Opening too many programs at once or
when OS 9.1 (classic ) is started you are running 2 OS's at the same
time. But as long as I didn't run more then say 2 programs at the same
time it was fine. I now have a G3 500 mhz running at 550 and 336 mb
of ram. It is nearly like running on a more modern machine. But the
old way was usable for me. So as long as you don't expect too much
some people maybe happy with it. Time will tell! Will S (who wishes
he had time to try using his C500 with OSX)
