Apple is wrong to sell us machines w/ slow buses for the disk ata 66;
sdram; ....
I have a C600 /Sonnet G3/400 and i keep in mind that it is a bit faster
under linux but none the applications i use under macos are implemented
under linux.
Yes it has no antialiasing and pdf characters in the wysiwyg chain. But
who care?
At home you don't need to have the same computer than at work.
PC users have Win Xp F.E. by now, and a win Xp prof.
Yes, Apple can't (doesn't) do the same.
Apple is good in software. But is it bad on hardware?
Remember the machines which have problems.

When Apple sold first G4, i wanted to buy one. But after the problems
people had. I bought an upgraded card. I made a choice.
If Apple didn't turn his back to his customers it would'nt lose market
shares. It forced them to change their 68k machines to a PPC. It now do
it again. A lot of firms doesn't want to have a budget for computers
because it lives more than 5 years. It's good to be nostalgic and
special case instead of a basic pc consumer.

Apple 'll be more competitive if it propose low cost machines, and more
powerful. Perhaps in the future they 'll stop production of machines
else if it gives more margin than software.
