I whole heartedly agree. I still have my 1st Mac (Performa 400) in my
closet. I'm always tring to find a new use for it. (If I can find an
Ethernet PDS and SCSI adaptor I'll turn it into an email server:) Hell,
I routinely buy old Mac equipment just for nostalga. That is how I
aquired my 512K, Portable, IIcx, 3 IIci's (those are servers), a IIfx
(server) and my very active Quadra 700 that I got at a junkyard (in
perfect condition for $5). The Quadra is run into a KVM switch along
with my S900 and plugged into my 19" monitor. I still use it a few times
a week. Now if I could get my friend to give up one of his NeXt
Stations :)

I must agree once again. I never would have though I would ever use a
Unix machine. After getting use to X, I can barely stand OS9. It drives
me nuts everytime I have to wait for one program to load before I do
something else. I see why Unix has endured for 20+ years.

You could always go the other way. Download Darwin from
opensource.apple.com and then run Xfree86 on it. Xfree is a lot less CPU
hungry than Aqua. (It flies on my S900)
