A G3 Upgrade will make a VERY large difference in usability in OSX. Do get more than 128 MB though, 336MB Seemed to be the happy spot for my S900, both when running one program and when running 20. This is especially true when multitasking! Technically, 128 MB ram will work fine, even if you use many programs, it is just that your HD will probably die from the equivalent of a heart attack from all the virtual memory work. Keep in mind that each window uses ram and not all windows are visible. Plus all the*Nix background processes will be using it as well.
Long story short, go....buy......ram. (If I remember right, the 600 used EDO/Fast-page right? if so check out www.macsales.com. In my experience, they usually have the lowest prices on old RAM. Anyone else know a place?) -Robyn On Wednesday, July 10, 2002, at 03:57 PM, Nils Mueller-Scheessel wrote: > > I hope your wrong, but, alas, you do not know before you have tried > it.
