I'm going from (admittedly hazy) memory here, so forgive me if I go 
astray, but...

Isn't there an issue between some G4 upgrades and the E-100 card, 
specifically the E-100 Enabler file? Maybe something regarding 
Speculative Processing, or some such thing? Also, check the status of 
your onboard L2 cache.

This probably doesn't help much, but maybe Googling along those lines 
might. I recall having some trouble finding the most current version of 
that E-100 extension as well, might wanna triple-check that.

There, maybe I've sown enough confusion for the time being.
