Another distinction is that revision 1 has the Rage II video chip and revision 2 has the Rage Pro chip, if I'm remembering correctly. However, the actual determining factor for slave IDE support on the beige is the version of ROM installed. If the machine still has the ROM it came with, then the above is a fine way to determine if you have slave support. However, it is possible to remove the rev. 1 ROM from a rev. 1 motherboard and install a later ROM which gives slave support.
