You may be right.   I've got a "9.1 gig" SCSI drive that actually reports 
itself as 8.48 gig.   OS 10.1.5 is installed on this drive.

I've got 10.2 installed on a 10 gig IDE drive.   It's partitioned into  7.5 
and 2.5 gig partitions.   OS 10.2 is on the 7.5 partition.   I tried to 
install a 10.2 "test" partition on the 2.5, but it told me that the 
partition was beyond the first 8 gig and was unuseable.

I've always wondered why the SCSI drive didn't need to be partitioned.   
Perhaps it *is* just IDE drives!
