I currently would recommend using XPF beta 15 and packages for
installing Jaguar and running it. I would recommend XPF beta 7 and
packages for all earlier versions of OSX (10.03- 10.1.5) I have
tested this more times then I can count! Dan S has gotten XPF beta 7
to run Jaguar but I have seen no other reports of this working. I
don't belive Dan ever answered me as to if he tried beta 15 to see if
this would fix his SCSI drive and IDE CDRW issues.XPF beta 16 is
buggy and shouldn't be used IMHO. XPF beta 17 is in limited
availability and I will be testing this evening. So if beta 7 gives
you problems as it did me for Jaguar try beta 15 with packages. Ryan
doesn't expect any XPF before beta 15 to work without issues of some
sort if it works at all.
As Howie put it so nicely recently there is a lot of Voodoo
relating to running OSX on our legacy machines. It was something like
that and true. What works for one person seems not to for another on
the same model machine but of course there are many differences in
peoples setups , cards and etc. Will S
