Dan thanks for the reply. The mysteries continue on. You are getting
the same bug that most people get when using XPF beta 15. Since it
works for me I was hoping that the bug had missed the UMAX machines.
However it is interesting that beta 16 which fixed the bug for most
old world users doesn't work for you. It also didn't work for me but
then neither does XPF beta 7 with Jaguar. It might be helpful to see
what your machine config is,PCi cards etc. That has to be the
difference in what works and doesn't. Ryan did make some changes in
the packages that come with different versions of XPF. you might want
to try the beta 15 and or 16 packages with beta 7. You just put the
packages in the same folder as XPF and check re-install extensions.
Easy to go back to beta 7's packages if they case problems. My
thinking is the new packages may fix your SCSI and or IDE CDRW
problem.
Your right Ryan is going a bit crazy since Jaguar and the
MacAddict Aug cover mention and 2 page spread about XPFacto. The
general Mac world now knows about OSX on Old World Macs. He doesn't
even get mentioned just OWC. He sometimes answers my email and
sometimes not. He does try to make note of peoples input as to what
works and doesn't. Will S
PS the test XPF beta 17 is running fine with Jaguar. but I haven't
tried it for installing. Things are good as they are and I am sick of
doing installs for now.
