Thanks Will. It makes sense. When the idea came, I felt nah this can't 
work.  I wasn't sure why but it seemed to revolve around your 
explanation as I read it.  But I tried it anyway. There is no time 
saving as both normal and ram disk have the same time for a cycle.  I 
knew I'd get  answers from the list. Thank you very much. There is a 
ram store 20 miles from here www.satech.com.  Maybe they'd test my ram 
in their machine.  I've bought their ram before and never had any 
problems with it in my Mac B&W G3.
