I was using OS8.1 when I first got my USB card. I downloaded the CarbonLib driver from Apple, put it in the Extensions folder and the USB worked. All I used it for was a "toy" digital camera (Jam Cam brand) and it worked just fine. It was when I got a "real" digicam (Minolta Dimage S304) which required OS8.6+ that I upgraded my processor.
