All C500's may not be alike, but I've had a dead PRAM battery for over a
year now and my computer starts up fine. I've but the date/time control
panel in the start up folder so I can manually set the time and date
whenever I start up. It's a pain, but I've been too lazy (and didn't know
how) to put a new battery in.

Thanks to the other Eric for the specifics on getting a new battery. I'm
going to head down to my local Radio Shack and try to get a new battery in
my machine. I'm sick of having to check the clock every time I start my
SuperMac.

Besides the inconvenience, are there any problems or am I causing damage by
not having a working battery in my computer for so long?

Eric A.
