Hi Dave,
Sometimes it helps to make a more drastic change by switching the 
brand of your processor from XLR8 to another brand. You should be 
able to find an equivalent Sonnet board price wise. Have you tried re 
seating the ram, moving it around or testing it with Ramometer?  I 
had a similar problem with the Apple Menu Options Prefs and a clean 
install helped clear that. Have you tried trashing the finder prefs, 
MacOS prefs and system prefs? Good luck.
