I was hoping you'd see the post Jeff, thanks! I'll try those things, but I sense this machine has passed. A gut feeling. If it is truly dead, I've since found a bare PPC 8500 for $75.00 that I can dump the components (RAM, HD, video card) from the S900 into. Getting my friend back up and running for that price is an option I can live with. The S900 is the better machine, but ya do what ya gotta do. Getting another S900 from eBay would take too long.
